School is starting!

School is starting!  Here's some of what's going on:

  • Baby T has had her first day of pre-k!  She is doing a three day schedule (although we might bump it up later if possible).  So far, so good.
  • Baby T is enjoying the company of a little friend at school.
  • She was, however, a little negative about the uniform the day before school started.  That is probably the biggest negative of going to school for her.
  • D is now a junior high student, so he's in the same junior-senior high building as C.
  • D is going to be taking woodworking as an elective.
  • C is in student government again, so she has a better pipeline on school information than I do at this point.
  • The drop-off works fine, but the gap between Baby T's pickup and the big kids' pickup is a bit awkward.  I used it yesterday to pick up cupcakes and pastries at the fancy bakery downtown with the line out the door.

Show and tell

D says that it's sad that when you're a little kid, you don't really have anything to talk about at show-and-tell, but once you're a big kid and have real stuff to talk about, you don't get to do show-and-tell anymore.

Sad!

Room Switch III

Here's what's going to happen in the current phase:

--new window in one bedroom (originally a non-bedroom, hence window doesn't open)
--blind
--wardrobe for room without closet (IKEA black brown)
--dresser for Baby T (white IKEA?)

Somewhat later, we can do the following:

--first big girl bed for Baby T (white IKEA?)
--mattress
--mattress cover
--new bedding (pastel ponies?)

The initial IKEA run is coming soon.

Yesterday, we were buying shoes and school supplies.
