End of year

Here's some of what's happening:

  • This is the last week of school!  So many half-days!
  • Baby T's parents'-day-out class had an end-of-term party today.  I came in to pick Baby T up early (as they often don't nap on party days), and I found her up, the lights off, and her PDO class mostly bouncing around in the dark.  Her teachers had a gift bucket for each child with bubbles and similar.  Awww!  She was blowing bubbles from our upstairs balcony at home this afternoon.
  • We've been having thunderstorms and violent rain.
  • I just had a little misunderstanding with Baby T.  I thought she was asking for an "antelope" and obligingly showed her antelope on Google images.  But she was actually asking for an "envelope."  Oops!
  • I got C Ukulele Aerobics last week, as she was interested, and her teacher had just bought it.  It has a set of 40 weeks of exercises (I think), with a different exercise for every day.  She has been using it.
  • D was sweating over a final project where he retold the story of St. George and the Dragon with words and illustrations.  All done now!

Teen rebellion

C says, "I'm going to have a teen rebellion by going to my room and playing country western music really loudly."

C hates country western, so she's just kidding.

Music preference

C is currently hopping back and forth between her Easy Classical Ukulele Solos book and From Lute to Uke.  I also want her to practice some old time country western songs from Jumpin' Jim's Ukulele Country because I think my family would enjoy that when we visit, but C isn't really into it.  We are going to be in WA to visit family during the early summer, and we'll be taking C's ukulele on the plane for the first time so she can play for family and practice.

End of term

Here's some of what's happening:

  • C is going to be painting Hannibal's crossing of the Alps with elephants onto a wooden sword for a school project.
  • It's a really good thing that C likes school projects so much.  Otherwise, life would be terrible.
  • D has made some progress on bouldering.
  • My husband is working on making a chalk bag for rock climbing.  (You put chalk on your hands to keep from slipping.)  He's been using C's sewing machine.
  • This morning, Baby T was wanting to speed up our departure for the grocery store (a favorite destination).  I eventually realized why she'd grabbed a couple of reusable grocery bags--they were for me to use!
  • The cafeterias are closing soon.  Waaaaaaaah!
  • The kids have another 2.5 weeks of school left.
